Here's how to track a lost phone use IMEI

Mobile is the life of our lives. Many memories and personal data are stored there. No wonder, we strive to keep it best.

But sometimes unfortunate can not be rejected. Lost or stolen mobile phone is quite a real occurrence. A study in the United States mentions that every year there are 70 million mobile phone aliases switching hands.

Do you know? Can we track the lost Android phone using the IMEI number? IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15-digit code passed by the GSMA, functioning as an identity certificate for mobile phones.

Every time a phone uses a network to make or receive calls and messages, its IMEI number is automatically transmitted and tracked. The police and service providers have a database in which the ID number, so the owner can report his IMEI number and make it blacklisted (blocked) in case of theft.

How to know our IMEI number is easy, i.e. pressing * #06 #, this is the command to create the unique ID that appears.

It can also be by navigating through  "Settings " and Tap  "about phone " To check the IMEI code of the Android phone. If your phone supports two SIM cards, then there are two different IMEI numbers.

Well, if the phone is lost, but the packaging is saved, you can still find the IMEI number on the phone's DOS label.

Reported on Viva website, Monday (8/7/2019), to find lost phone can by utilizing the IMEI tracker application.

There are many phone locator apps available on Google Play, such as AntiTheft app & IMEI Tracker, Phone Location, Find Lost Phone, Find My Device, SeekDroid: Find My Phone, and more. Make sure your phone is running at least Android 4.4 series.

Step 1: Download the IMEI Tracker app on Google Play.

Step 2: After completing the installation, run the application. Grant all permissions requested by the IMEI Tracker app, including contacts, calls, storage, SMS, and location. If you're going to track your phone, all these permissions are required to enable full functionality.

Step 3: Enter the lost Android phone IMEI number, check the input, and tap  "Track ". A small window with a list of places will appear, indicating the location of the phone or adjacent.

Using the IMEI number to track the lost phone is not the only IMEI tracker function. There are also some important anti-theft functions that you need to know.

In the application there is an option if we want to send a code on the phone that will then make it ring.

But before you lose this phone (and hopefully it will never), identify or save the IMEI number, and never wait until it's too late. Report the IMEI number to the police, ask the service provider to block all of your lost phone services as soon as possible.
